![]() Tips: For the premium package, arrive when they open because it takes 3-4 hours and then you will finish up in time for lunch and also avoid any crowds (most important on weekends - we went on a Wednesday in June and it was not busy). Adventure trail is unlike anything we've ever done and perfectly safe with the harnesses. We went for the premium package which includes the adventure trail, hike, and raft float. He was happy with his day here too, he was just tired (check the photos and you’ll see how it began vs how it ended). Recommend you go early to beat the lines and the heat if it’s summer, bring water shoes for the raft, bring water, and snacks! We packed one backpack and did just fine! Orange trail is for experienced folks! We did have a really good time! Oh, my son I brought with me is 10. Don’t get me wrong, we had fun, but we were TIRED! Our bus driver was super nice and offered some more stories for us as well as offered to take pics for us at the drop off point. We were proud to get thru half before quitting and hitting a path to the bus back to the welcome center. We did a great job thus far, but when we started exploring the orange trail…we died! This trail is definitely for more advanced folks. Brooke had a lot of stories to tell us and we really enjoyed the ride even though it was like 20 mins. Brooke taught the kids how to paddle and encouraged them to be safe and fun. She was very friendly and patient with all the young folks on our raft. When we got to the raft, we got Brooke for a guide. We had a good time seeing the views and walking the path. We moved on from there to the trail to get to the raft. He was friendly and seemed to know quite a bit about the canyon, but was also very eager to help us and take pictures for us (it was just me and my son). First we had Lucas for the adventure walk. We decided to do the Explorer package when we visited. That is honestly why I am giving it 4 out of 5 otherwise it would be a 2 because it's not organized well and the extra $5.00 for each ticket was a waste of money. Make sure to bring footwear to change into. It wasn't a pleasant feeling walking to the trolley site with soaked shoes. Warning: your feet will be soaked when you first get into the raft because they don't turn them over from the previous trip. You go down some pretty steep and narrow stairs to get to the bottom.Īfter the "guided" river walk, we waited for over an hour to be able to get on a raft. If you are afraid of heights, I suggest you skip this place. You do walk over a suspension bridge that does wobble. You are just trying to keep up the pace with everyone else. However, the guide walks so fast and you feel like you have to keep up, there's no actual explaining. We purchased the "Explorer" package which for $5.00 more you get to go on a "guided" river walk. This was around 2pm and they close at 5pm. When we came back in from our time, we walked by and heard that a man would have to wait at least an hour to be able to get in line to buy admission tickets. It took us over an hour of waiting to just buy admission tickets. But that ticket isn't so you may purchase admission tickets, it's to wait to be allowed to get in line to actually buy tickets which is another wait. We went about an hour after it had opened and was told we needed to take a ticket like you would at a deli counter in the supermarket. First a warning about how long it will take you just to get a ticket.
