I like the power of Teams and SharePoint. My biggest request would be a better way to move work that started in Outlook to Teams and (if necessary) back again. I have my hold outs too, however between Teams and Slack, this is the way that things are moving to. Work fro anywhere on any device etc too.Ī lot of tasks can be done from within its walls (view/edit docs, tasks, convos) and then you can always hop out to the full version of the app. We're telling people that Teams is your aggregation of all the tools and a great way to start performing work. It is not by clinging to previous ways of working. I'm having to re-educate my usership on how to get the most of the suite. Syncing is the solution to having "local" file structure to work with when speed is required. Mapped drives also mask out a lot of the power of SharePoint. We also see the lack of a mapped drive as a distinct bonus, as this is one of those things that was forcing us to maintain VPN's and Citrix, as people couldn't access files remotely. Its a mind shift away from everything being architected around files. It keeps the File Explorer as the starting point and excludes any other productivity that is to be gained from Teams. If I could create shortcuts of SharePoint drive locations into the Teams Files structure that would be a perfect You have probably considered this but mapping drives is the old way of working. Because us Tech types use the mapped drive in Windows to folder locations because it's part of the OS and is faster. I'd love to have shortcuts to be put in Teams folders to the locations for specific folders on the SharePoint drive. Do realize in my situation I'm dealing with a few people in the company that have no clue of file hierarchy and structure so I need to lead them to it. Why can't we make shortcuts in the SharePoint drive to locations in a file hierarchy that our is our company standard and both Teams and SharePoint can be directed to that. What would awesome is if it can act just like the Dir/File structure of Windows, your own OS. Yes, those can be accessed in Teams by using "+ Cloud Storage" structure to locations in the SharePoint Dir. This way shortcuts can be made in that Teams Dir.
